| Longview Farm: THE VISION FOR A NEW VILLAGE EVOLVES The design process for New Longview at the historic Longview Farm ran from Wednesday, September 26 to Tuesday, October 2, 2001. A team of local and national designers, engineers, planners and historic preservation specialists came together to work with local citizens and planners in an intensive design workshop - 'charrette' - to create a plan for preservation and re-use of the farm. Citizens and local agencies participated throughout the week long session. All events were open to the public. The design team presented the resulting proposals to the community at the Final Presentation on Tuesday, October 2, 2001.
| Lee's Summit City Council Approves Transportation Plan. On September 10th, the Planning Commission unanimously approved the transportation plan for the main arterial "Longview Boulevard". On Thursday, October 3rd, the city council unanimously approved the arterial transportation plan for New Longview.
